A.
We’re taught that life is a
Struggle for existence
Where only the fittest survive.
As children we’re taught
To participate in contests
To win points and
Obtain high grades.
The winners are taught
Pride,
And the losers are taught
Shame.
And to not fight the Good Fight
Is to disgrace the Family Name.
B.
Today the war zone is
Everywhere people compete.
To win as a competitor
Makes a man so limit his vision
That he sees only a tiny fraction
Of the whole reality.
To succeed, a person must focus
On a certain business
Harder and more effectively
Than many of his competitors.
Otherwise they will dominate the market, not he.
The job market is the same.
Many applicants compete
For the same position.
And many persons fail to obtain
The position so many seek.
In the present system
A great many persons are oppressed
And chronically depressed.
Many of these use special substances
Or engage in wild practices
To help them
Forget about everything.
C.
Satisfaction is a feeling
Of being content in the warm sunlight,
Like a sea lion basking on a rock.
Contentment is a feeling of ease,
Like being a turtle on a log,
Basking in the sunshine.
In contentment you let your mind relax.
While relaxing your intellect
Sees how asinine the struggle is.
Then you laugh at the way people are,
Along with the rolling thunder and the chuckling waters.
Suddenly you recognize that these
Are a whole lot more
Like Santa Claus than
Like the Anti-Christ.
D.
The bad spirit is ruinous you know.
But what social paradigm is superior
To bad spirit which is so universally taught
To our young children?
Children expect to be ranked by their peers
Like hens in a pecking order.
Children are so callow without any clear consciousness
Of where their urges come from
And how to damp them out.
See how the chronically weak child is picked on,
As the chronically poor adults are preyed upon,
So many people learn they have to
Procure and become skilled
In using a weapon.
They call this “being realistic.”
So to many intelligent persons today,
The war machine seems inevitable.
And even to these intelligent folk,
The promise of “A Messiah”
Sounds like a joke.
E.
Contentment makes the child content.
When you’re content you feel relaxed,
And you produce your best work.
But with more and more struggle there is less and less contentment
And more and more people fail or are afraid of failing.
Some become deeply resentful,
And they may use any force at their disposal
To get even.
F.
A better system will teach peace.
Evolution helps raise consciousness
As mature people clearly see how life evolved.
But little children aren’t yet aware
Of where the blind struggle leads.
G.
Look around and you’ll see despair.
You’ll see the devastation of war.
You’ll see millions destroyed by violent people
Who were better at winning the hard fight.
Indeed, many battles today
Are being fought using economics
Or words.
Go to the city and you’ll see beggars
And addicts whose brains are being wasted.
Only a few persons are freed from discontent.
And so many prayers are prayed for deliverance
From evil.
H.
In every modern nation
It is the same.
The rich and powerful are narrow-minded
Experts in a tiny field of business or study.
They have to become so
In order to be so successful
In the present social system.
Put them all in the same great hall
And they don’t all speak the same language.
We the people
Mainly trust in diplomats
To keep the peace between nations
But the diplomats
Are mainly experts in diplomacy.
From the tiniest children
Up to the heads of state,
The driving force is still brutish unconsciousness,
And young people aren’t taught wisdom.
I.
Some youths are wise
Beyond their years,
And these youths transcend
The brute struggle.
Even before puberty
They view their contemporaries
With a curious detachment.
Yes, but even so,
What’s missing in these wise children
Is full consciousness, that is complete awareness.
J.
The aggressive people try to make the aloof child
More competitive, more assertive,
More aggressive, more penetrating
With a strident, noisy voice,
So he can be more and more
Like they are.
But if he retains his wisdom,
He’ll often be seen
Just lying in the sun,
Basking.
He will not excel
In a debate
But he is wise
Beyond his years.
K.
Even so
He may not know
From where his aloofness
Comes.
He may be called “schizoid”
“autistic” or “schizophrenic”.
He may talk of God
And be attacked for his talk!
And the point is
That the spirit is bad.
People are so very aggressive
They don’t take time to study
What needs to be studied
In order to bring lasting peace.
